Local school treats Corbett Court residents to Christmas Carols

24 December 2013

Children from St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School in Burgess Hill treated the residents of Corbett Court to a Christmas celebration this week as they sang them a selection of their favourite Christmas carols.

The year 6 pupils, accompanied by their teacher Mrs Novis, were in full voice as they performed for the over 70s at who live at the McCarthy & Stone development.  They too were then treated to their own special show, from resident magician, Stanley Reynolds, who wowed the crowd with his unique brand of festive magic.

Mrs Novis said: “Singing forms a significant part of our praise and worship at school.  We are delighted to have the opportunity to share this with the wider community. The children have been looking forward to performing their carols and Christmas music which they have been rehearsing for the KS2 Nativity.  They have enjoyed performing to a public audience.  We would like to say thank you for inviting us.  The children really love singing and we hope the residents enjoyed the performance.  It has been a privilege.”

Julie Ward, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone said: “One of the most important aspects of life at a McCarthy & Stone development is a sense of community. It is wonderful that children from the wider local community have come into Corbett Court and treated us to a delightful concert. The residents were so impressed and it’s great to see the different generations coming together to celebrate at this special time of year.”
