Local residents invited to help shape plans for retirement accommodation in Benllech
01 July 2015
McCarthy and Stone, the UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, is inviting feedback from residents on its proposals for high-quality Retirement Living accommodation on Bangor Road, Benllech.
The proposal comprises a mix of around 36 one and two bedroom apartments set in a contemporary building, with attractive landscaped gardens.
The scheme will fulfil a specialist housing need in Benllech, giving local older people the opportunity to downsize. This releases larger family homes back onto the market, which could, in turn, minimise the need to build on open green spaces.
Local residents are invited to view the early proposals at a public exhibition:
On: Thursday 16 July 2015
Between: 3pm and 7pm
At: Breeze Hill Hotel, Bangor Road, Benllech, LL74 8TN
Steve Secker, Regional Managing Director for McCarthy and Stone (Northern Region) said;
“We have spent time carefully researching the local architecture to ensure that our proposal is in-keeping with and sympathetic to its surroundings, and now we want to hear the views of the local community. Members of our project team will be on hand at the public exhibition to answer questions and listen to feedback. The proposals are at a very early stage and where possible we will amend our plans to reflect people’s comments.”
McCarthy and Stone is committed to engaging with the local community ahead of submitting a planning application. If you aren’t able to attend the public exhibition or would like further information, McCarthy and Stone has provided a Freephone information line for you to call (0800 298 7040) and has set up a website covering the initial proposals which can be found at www.mccarthyandstone-consultation.co.uk/benllech.
