Local performer, Nicola Anne, joined homeowners and staff at McCarthy and Stone’s Landmark Place in Denham Green to raise the roof for Royal Voluntary Service.

The Sing Your Heart Out event at the Retirement Living development on Moorfield Road was one of a series of musical performances which have been taking place up and down the country to raise funds for the older people’s charity.

In 1977, the award-winning housebuilder opened its very first retirement development, paving the way for the creation of an entirely new sector of the property market. To honour this important milestone, McCarthy and Stone has partnered with Royal Voluntary Service on a series of fundraising initiatives throughout 2017, with the aim of raising over £130,000 in support of projects across North London, and the rest of the country.

Mike Simpson, House Manager at Denham Green, said: “Our Sing Your Heart Out event was a huge success; Nicola Anne was in fine voice and it was great to hear everyone joining in with a fantastic repertoire of festive favourites.  It really was an uplifting afternoon, and we are grateful to everyone who helped us to show our support for Royal Voluntary Service.”

“We have had a superb year of events for our anniversary celebrations, and Sing Your Heart Out was another example of this. McCarthy and Stone is dedicated to enhancing our homeowners’ lives in so many different ways, so it made perfect sense to support a charity during our 40th year which shares our values.”

Landmark Place comprises a selection of 37 one and two bedroom Retirement Living apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 60 and over.  All those who make the development their home can enjoy an active, independent lifestyle, with the opportunity to benefit from companionship when desired and privacy when needed.
