Leading retirement housebuilder looks to regenerate site in Maidstone
06 August 2015
McCarthy & Stone, the UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, held a public exhibition to unveil its plans to redevelop land at Chaucer House, 25 Knightrider Street, Maidstone with specialist age exclusive apartments.
The proposals include the redevelopment of the site with a high-quality contemporary scheme comprising a mix of 24 one and two bed Retirement Living apartments for private sale.
A representative of McCarthy & Stone commented:
“It is our aim to provide Knightrider Street with a sensitive development. This will feature a high-quality design that seeks to complement the location, while being sympathetic to the architectural character of the road. We believe this site is an ideal location to provide new, much needed accommodation for people in later life, benefiting from its close proximity to nearby shops and public transport links.”
“The public exhibition was an excellent opportunity for us to understand the views of the local community and to receive their feedback on the proposals. I would like to take this opportunity to thank people for attending; we will be reviewing all the comments received and will look to address comments where possible.”
McCarthy & Stone will now be reviewing its proposals and will look to submit a planning application to Maidstone Borough Council over the coming weeks. Anyone who was unable to attend the exhibition can visit the project’s dedicated website (www.mccarthyandstone-consultation.co.uk/maidstone) where they will have the opportunity to view the information displayed at the exhibition.
