Lancaster site manager scoops the double at regional construction awards

29 November 2017

Jamie Law, Site Manager for McCarthy and Stone’s Williamson Court development in Lancaster, was on a winning streak at the regional Pride in the Job awards at Hilton Manchester; picking up two awards from the National House Builders’ Council (NHBC). Jamie was presented with an NHBC Seal of Excellence Award and also became the Regional winner in the High Rise Category, putting him in a strong position for the national ceremony in London in January.

For over 35 years, the Pride in the Job Awards have been dedicated to recognising site managers across the country who are at the top of their profession and are creating homes of an outstandingly high standard.

Preceded by the Quality Awards, judging for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards is an extremely meticulous process. Nominated site managers undergo spot checks of the day-to-day running of their sites; and each site manager is assessed across many different areas, including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process, leadership and organisational skills.  Only those who demonstrate exceptional standards and outstanding quality are recognised as award winners.

Commenting on his success, Jamie said: “I am thrilled to have picked up not one, but two regional Pride in the Job Awards.  I am extremely proud to be part of such an experienced, capable team, which consistently delivers to exceptional standards.  This is essential, as each individual McCarthy and Stone development requires a great level of detail and a commitment to quality.  I feel privileged to have received both awards and I am looking forward to the final award ceremony in London.”

Iain Fleming, Construction Director for McCarthy and Stone North West, commented: “We are all very excited for Jamie and we are delighted he has been so successful at the North West Pride in the Job Awards.  Winning both the Seal of Excellence and regional winner in the High Rise category is a great accomplishment, and a testament to Jamie’s hard work and dedication. It’s a fantastic achievement for Jamie, and we wish him all the best for the next stage.”
