Just the job: Investing in the future in Eaton

11 May 2017

When it comes to supporting local tradespeople and businesses, the UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, McCarthy and Stone, is truly leading the way, having employed a team of local contractors, labourers and security to deliver its new Daisy Hill Court and Coralie Court developments in Eaton.

McCarthy and Stone has invested heavily in the local workforce to deliver its latest developments on Bluebell Road. Daisy Hill Court will comprise 60 Retirement Living Plus apartments for the over 70s, and Coralie Court will present a further 38 Retirement Living apartments for the over 60s.

Since construction began, the developments have created jobs for local tradesmen; and it is estimated that, as the sites continue to progress further, jobs in areas such as plumbing, electrics, dry lining, painting and decorating will follow.

Tony Wilkinson, Site Manager at both Daisy Hill Court and Coralie Court, commented: “McCarthy and Stone’s commitment to sourcing its tradespeople from the local work pool provides a welcome boost for the Eaton community. The importance of employing local workforces cannot be underestimated and, as the build programme continues, we will be looking to recruit even more skilled tradespeople from the surrounding area.

“As a leading housebuilder, we invest in quality design and building delivery as this approach – together with careful attention to detail and consideration to providing the very best customer service – add-up to a winning formula. Each and every one of the employees involved in these developments, from the construction teams laying bricks on site to the sales teams in the office, plays an active role in turning the McCarthy and Stone vision into reality.”

The apartments at Coralie Court will be available to buy off plan November 2017, and the apartments at Daisy Hill Court will be available to buy off plan January 2018, with first occupations expected in 2018.

Cheryl Bissett, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone East Midlands, said: “At McCarthy and Stone we’re committed to helping older people stay independent for longer while living in a secure, low maintenance apartment with support on hand if required. We are confident that by investing in high quality local talent and skilled tradesmen, we will continue to deliver stunning developments which can be held up as an example of the kind of accommodation older generations truly deserve.”

Carefully-designed to offer homeowners the very best in independent living within a safe and secure environment, McCarthy and Stone’s Retirement Living developments offer homeowners the opportunity to benefit from companionship when desired, as well as privacy when needed.

McCarthy and Stone’s Retirement Living Plus developments aim to bridge the gap between conventional Retirement Living and residential care. Homeowners are able to retain independence in the form of home ownership, yet still have the peace of mind of a range of additional 24/7 security and support services.

Set in the heart of Eaton Village, both developments are close to Eaton Park and local amenities including a supermarket, opticians, pharmacy, Doctor’s surgery, shops and cafes. The historic city of Norwich is just a short journey away, boasting beautiful cobbled streets, an ancient cathedral, a popular market and department stores.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy and Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 12 years’ running. McCarthy and Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade, which is every year the awards have been run.
