McCarthy & Stone, Britain’s leading provider of retirement accommodation, is inviting residents to view its proposals to redevelop St Giles House off Vicarage Road in Stony Stratford. The scheme would consist of an Assisted Living (Extra Care) development with associated landscaping and car parking, as well as a new separate onsite day nursery.

Assisted Living schemes offer secure accommodation to frail elderly people, allowing them to retain independence safe in the knowledge that help and support are on-hand when needed. Residents can enjoy the company of others through the use of communal facilities including a residents’ lounge, professionally landscaped gardens and a table service restaurant providing freshly prepared meals. Assisted Living developments have step-free access throughout and are staffed 24 hours a day; ensuring residents have access to both personal and domestic assistance as required.

The public exhibition is taking place on:

Thursday 5th February 2015 at Stony Stratford Methodist Church, Silver Street, Stony Stratford, MK11 1JS

Between: 3.00pm - 7.30pm

McCarthy and Stone’s plans to redevelop the site comes following Milton Keynes Council made the site available for sale following the closure of the residential care home for dementia sufferers.

Ali Maruf, Regional Director, McCarthy & Stone said: “Our Assisted Living developments offer secure accommodation to frail elderly people, allowing them to retain independence safe in the knowledge that help and support are on-hand when needed.

“Residents can enjoy the company of others through the use of communal facilities including a residents’ lounge, professionally landscaped gardens and a table service restaurant providing freshly prepared meals.

“We’re keen to develop an Assisted Living (Extra Care) scheme which positively contributes to the local community both through the high-quality, attractive design and the increase in local housing choice the development would bring to the area and are committed to engaging with the local community before submitting a planning application.”

McCarthy & Stone is committed to engaging with the local community ahead of submitting a planning application. If you aren’t able to attend the public exhibition or would like further information, McCarthy & Stone has provided a Freephone information line for you to call (0800 298 7040) and has set up a website covering the initial proposals which can be found at http://www.mccarthyandstone-consultation.co.uk/stonystratford.
