Exhibition for residents to view McCarthy & Stone’s plans in Stow-on-the-Wold

11 December 2013

A public exhibition will give local residents the opportunity to view and comment on McCarthy & Stone’s preliminary plans to redevelop the Stow Agricultural Services site on Lower Swell Road, Stow-on-the-Wold.

McCarthy & Stone met with a number of nearby residents and local representatives to discuss its emerging plans in October 2013. The public exhibition marks the next stage of the community consultation and will be held:

On: Monday 16 December 2013
At: St. Edward’s Hall, The Square, Stow-on-the-Wold, GL54 1AF
Between: 3pm – 7pm

McCarthy & Stone’s plans seek to redevelop this site with approximately 17 high-quality Retirement Living apartments, specifically designed to meet the needs of local people in later life, together with car parking and attractive landscaped gardens.

The sensitive design proposes an attractive new building which positively contributes to the town’s existing architecture, including the use of local stone and detailing inspired by local styles. The building will be positioned around high-quality landscaped communal gardens.

The proposal site is ideally located for older person’s accommodation, being within close walking distance to local shops and services. McCarthy & Stone believes the redevelopment of the site offers an important opportunity to provide much needed Retirement Living apartments, increasing the housing choice for local older people.

Lorena Brown, Regional Managing Director at McCarthy & Stone, said: “We want to hear from the local community and our future home-owners before we submit a planning application.

“We will display our plans at the exhibition and our project team will be there to answer questions and to take feedback on what we’ve done so far. The comments we receive will help us tailor our proposal into something people will want to see, enjoy and call home.”

McCarthy & Stone is renowned for the quality of its developments that give homeowners the time and opportunity to do things they’ve always wanted to do. The apartments allow people in later life to retain their independence, close to their family and friends, in their own home suited specifically for customers’ needs, in a safe and enjoyable environment.
