McCarthy Stone, the developer behind the Ryland Place Retirement Living Plus development on Norfolk Road in Edgbaston, has pledged its support to Elmhurst Ballet School’s Summer Show, ‘Awakenings’.
Members of the public are invited to book their tickets for the end of academic year performance, which will take place from 5 – 11 July at the ballet school on Bristol Road. McCarthy Stone has donated £600 towards the showcase, which will demonstrate the young dancers’ skills across a range of dance genres, with pieces from world-renowned choreographers.
Clare Bright, Regional Managing Director for McCarthy Stone West Midlands, said: “We thoroughly look forward to seeing the latest performance from the talented students at Elmhurst Ballet School, and we were very pleased to make a donation in support of this important annual showcase. We enjoy a great relationship with the school – around Christmas they put on a short performance for our homeowners and it went down a storm – and Awakenings promises to be a fantastic show.”
Elmhurst Ballet School works in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet to provide world renowned training and education for young ballet dancers, aged 11 to 19 years. Alongside dancers of Birmingham Royal Ballet, Elmhurst students have been seen dancing in some of the greatest classical ballets, including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty.
Jessica Wheeler, Principal at Elmhurst Ballet School, said: “We are really grateful for the ongoing support from McCarthy Stone and always welcome their residents, team and families to the school and our annual summer shows.”
