Debbie McGee Joins Chislehurst Retirees For Summer Garden Party At Shepheard’s House

24 July 2019

The people of Chislehurst joined ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Star, Debbie McGee, for a summer garden party at McCarthy and Stone’s new Shepheard’s House Retirement Living Plus development on Manor Park Road.

Debbie McGee joined homeowners and guests at the new development, which features a stylish collection of privately-owned one and two bedroom Retirement Living Plus apartments. Guests who attended the special event enjoyed a fantastic afternoon sipping cocktails in the development’s landscaped gardens, while also enjoying live entertainment, provided by MPR Jazz.

Attendees at the garden party had the opportunity to chat with Debbie one-on-one, and to meet the friendly McCarthy and Stone team at the development. Guests also had the opportunity to find out more about how they could enjoy their retirement in a quality, low maintenance apartment, designed exclusively for those aged 70 and over.

Speaking of the event, Debbie McGee commented: “It was an absolute pleasure to join local people for a summer garden party.  I enjoyed meeting guests and staff, and it was great to see first-hand what a fantastic development Shepheard’s House is and the many benefits it will bring to retirees.”

Julie Ward, National Sales Director for McCarthy and Stone, said: “We are very proud of Shepheard’s House and it was our pleasure to showcase this superb new development with such an enjoyable event.

“The garden party was just one example of the variety of activities we host here at Shepheard’s House and to provide people with an insight into the lives homeowners enjoy at the development. The McCarthy and Stone team would like to say thank you to Debbie McGee – and all of our visitors – for joining us.”

Comprising a selection of 54 one and two bedroom Retirement Living Plus apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 70 and over, Shepheard’s House provides everything people in Chislehurst could want for a relaxing retirement.

The shared lounge is perfect for socialising with new neighbours and homeowners can make the most of beautiful landscaped gardens knowing all the maintenance is taken care of.  Shepheard’s House also features a high-quality table-service restaurant providing freshly cooked meals daily, along with a relaxing wellbeing suite, and a convenient guest suite for when friends and family come to visit.

Bridging the gap between conventional Retirement Living and residential care, Retirement Living Plus enables older people to retain independence in the form of home ownership, yet still have the peace-of-mind of a range of additional security and support services. Bespoke personal packages are available for retirees who need extra support – from help with laundry or cleaning, to round the clock personal care to suit their individual needs.

An Estates Manager is on hand at Shepheard’s House to take care of the smooth-running of the development; while security entrance systems and 24-hour emergency call points provide added reassurance for homeowners and their families.

Located in the heart of Chislehurst, homeowners at Shepheard’s House are less than half a mile from a range of amenities, including a selection of independent retailers, a butchers and gastro pub. They also benefit from excellent transport links to the high street, Lewisham and Bromley, with the nearest bus stop situated just yards from the development.
