The BBC TV's Antiques Expert, David Harper, joined retirees in Alsager to celebrate the grand opening of McCarthy and Stone’s new Retirement Living development, The Oaks, located on Cedar Avenue.
David Harper gave a presentation to discuss his life as one of TV's most prominent antiques experts and provided stories from his extensive career.
Guests were given a tour of the professionally-styled show complex and they also took a closer look at the stylish communal lounge – all whilst enjoying a glass of fizz and light refreshments. Throughout the day, the McCarthy and Stone sales team were on-hand to answer any questions, and to advise on how they can make moving to The Oaks even easier.
Joanne Spencer, New Business Sales Manager at McCarthy and Stone, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to officially open our fabulous development in Alsager. Our easy to maintain, luxurious apartments allow residents to enjoy their independence, with the added benefit of communal areas for socialising with neighbours.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to David Harper for joining us and giving a thoroughly interesting presentation on her career. We would encourage anyone over the age of 60 who is considering downsizing to take a look at the development themselves, they won’t be disappointed!”
The Oaks comprises of 12 one-bed and 32 two-bed apartments, providing an ideal downsizing option for retirees seeking the privacy and independence that comes with owning your own home, but with additional help and support in the form of a dedicated House Manager, who will oversee the day-to-day running of the development.
All of the apartments are fitted-out to the highest specification including a modern kitchen with integrated appliances, panel heaters throughout, and stylish en-suite bathrooms, while selected apartments also feature a balcony.
There is a communal lounge, perfect for socialising with new neighbours; stunning landscaped gardens maintained by McCarthy and Stone’s expert team, and a handy guest suite for when family and friends come to stay.
Built with security in mind, there is also a camera entry system to the development, and all apartments will be equipped with a 24-hour emergency call system.
Located in the market town of Alsager, the Oaks is a short distance from Alsager Gardens and Milton Park, both offering beautifully kept green spaces; perfect for a relaxing stroll. Milton Park also boasts a wonderful rose garden among other floral displays for members of the public to enjoy, as well as being the venue for the annual Alsager Music Festival, which is organised by local musicians. A weekly town market is held on Wednesdays from 9am to 3pm with an array of stalls to choose from, while nearby Stoke-on-Trent offers excellent high street and retail centre shopping.
More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy and Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years running. McCarthy and Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 14 years, which is every year the awards have been run.
