Councillors take a closer look at new McCarthy & Stone development in Godalming

08 November 2017

Councillors Andrew Bolton, Peter Martin, Maurice Byham and Liz Wheatley recently paid a visit to Caesars Place, McCarthy and Stone’s latest Retirement Living development on Ockford Road in Godalming, for the grand opening of a new show complex.

The guests of honour joined local retirees and McCarthy and Stone representatives for an event to mark the official opening of the new Retirement Living development, which has been exclusively designed for the over 60s.  As well as performing a ceremonial ribbon cutting, Councillors were among the first to view the fully-furnished show apartment at Caesars Place; and they also took the opportunity to find out more about the features of Retirement Living which help older people to enjoy active, social and independent lifestyles surrounded by like-minded people.

Peter Martin, Chairman of Godalming Town Council said: “It was our pleasure to officially open the show complex at Caesars Place, and to see for ourselves what a fantastic development it is shaping up to be. Living independently and securely is extremely important, and with a growing number of people reaching retirement age, I’m delighted developments such as this are being built to provide local retirees with a number of options to make the most out of their later years.”

Caesars Place – named in homage to Julius Caesar, the Godalming-born cricketer who played for Surrey and England between 1849 and 1867 – features an exclusive collection of two bedroom apartments.  Prices currently start from £496,950 for a two bedroom apartment; and potential purchasers can also take advantage of McCarthy and Stone’s range of tailored incentives, aimed at making moving easier. These include Part Exchange, which is available for homebuyers trading up or down.

Georgina Akers, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone, comments: “Our aim is to give those looking to downsize access to luxury living in the very best locations. These age-exclusive apartments are ideal for those who want to focus on enjoying an active lifestyle in stylish surroundings.  With all the external maintenance taken care of and minimal upkeep required, homeowners are free to devote more of their time to the things they enjoy.

“We are very thankful to Councillors Andrew Bolton, Peter Martin, Maurice Byham and Liz Wheatley for taking the time out of their busy schedules to visit our new development and to mark the unveiling of the show apartment, which we believe demonstrates the high quality and attention to detail seen throughout Caesars Place.  With more than 50% of the apartments at the development now reserved off-plan, we are urging anyone interested in securing one of these apartments to visit the show complex without delay and speak with our team of friendly Sales Executives.”

Exclusively for the over 60s, Caesars Place boasts a selection of stylish two bedroom, purpose-built retirement apartments. Facilities include a stunning club lounge, ideal for socialising with friends, beautiful landscaped gardens, and a sun lounge located on the second floor. Homeowners will benefit from a safe and secure environment with a dedicated Concierge service, a security entrance system, and 24-hour emergency call points for added peace of mind.

With the development in walking distance to Godalming High Street and train station, homeowners at Caesars Place will benefit from easy access to all essential amenities, and excellent transport links to Guildford, London Waterloo and Portsmouth.

More than 90 percent of customers would recommend McCarthy and Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the maximum Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 12 years’ running.  It is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade, which is every year since the awards have been running.
