Coppice Gate in Dibden Purlieu celebrates first birthday

15 August 2017

Retirees in Dibden Purlieu enjoyed an afternoon to remember at McCarthy and Stone’s Coppice Gate last week, as the Retirement Living development celebrated its first birthday.

Staff and homeowners gathered together to celebrate the milestone with a special first birthday cake; and homeowners Sylvia Shepherd and Barbara Francis, who had the honour as some of the first homeowners to move into Coppice Gate, of cutting the cake for everyone to enjoy.

Rebecca Johnson, Sales Executive at Coppice Gate, who helped organise the celebrations, said: “It was wonderful to be able to mark this important first anniversary with the homeowners who have without a doubt, made Coppice Gate the fantastic community that it is. There are still a few apartments available at the development, so I’d encourage anyone looking to downsize to get in touch and see the lifestyle on offer for themselves. We really do have a great sense of community spirit here at Coppice Gate and I look forward to celebrating many more years to come!”

Homeowner Lynne Francis, said: “I’ve had a great year here at Coppice Gate. Moving to the development really has been a life changing experience for me – when my husband and I first came to look at the development we had been going through a period of extreme stress as our current home had become too much to maintain and look after.

“Whilst we have gone through a period of adjustment with a new area and a new way of life, both my husband and I feel that our health has significantly improved in this time. We have continued with outside activities like swimming and bowls but have also benefitted by the good community spirit within Coppice Gate. There are so many social activities to get involved in such as bridge, keep fit, Scrabble etc, and the whole team are professional, caring and understand what is required for the over 60s to move to a more beneficial way of life.”

Exclusively designed for those aged 60 and over, the stunning collection of 36 apartments at Coppice Gate has seen a high level of interest since its launch last year from local retirees and is now 89% sold.

With just four two-bedroom apartments left for sale, retirees in Southampton and the surrounding areas are being urged to get in touch at the earliest opportunity to secure one of the last remaining luxury retirement properties in the vibrant community of Dibden Purlieu.

Facilities at Coppice Gate include a stunning homeowners’ lounge, ideal for socialising with friends, landscaped gardens fully maintained by the experienced on-site team, plus a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay. A dedicated House Manager, who will also be available to meet and introduce at the event, ensures the day-to-day running of the development; and a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points provide homeowners and their families with additional peace of mind.
