Tenterden retirees joined gardening expert and television presenter, Charlie Dimmock, to celebrate the grand opening of the gardens at McCarthy and Stone’s new Retirement Living development, Oak Tree Court, on Smallhythe Road.

Charlie Dimmock was invited to perform a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at the new development, which features a stylish collection of 36 privately-owned one and two bedroom Retirement Living apartments for the over 60s.

All those who attended the celebrations had the opportunity to chat with Charlie one-on-one, and to meet the friendly McCarthy and Stone team at the development. Guests also had the honour of being among the first to take a tour of the brand new development, including the homeowners’ lounge and gardens, all whilst enjoying a glass of fizz.

Speaking of the event, Charlie Dimmock commented: “It was an absolute pleasure to mark the official opening of the gardens at McCarthy and Stone’s new Retirement Living development in Tenterden, and to meet with guests and staff. It was great to see first-hand how fantastic Oak Tree Court is and the many benefits it will bring to retirees.”

Kevin Sims, Regional Managing Director for McCarthy and Stone South East said: “We are very proud of Oak Tree Court and it was our pleasure to showcase this superb new development and gardens with such an enjoyable event. Everyone had a great time raising a glass to commemorate this important milestone; and the McCarthy and Stone team would like to say thank you to Charlie Dimmock, for performing the all-important ceremonial duties.”

Oak Tree Court provides everything homeowners could want for a relaxing retirement. All those who make the development their home can enjoy an active, independent lifestyle, with the opportunity to benefit from companionship when desired and privacy when needed.

Oak Tree Court features a club lounge, ideal for socialising with friends; beautifully landscaped gardens; an on-site car park; and a convenient guest suite, should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay. A House Manager takes care of the smooth day-to-day running of the development; while a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points provide added peace-of-mind for homeowners.

With the development situated within walking distance of Tenterden High Street, homeowners at Oak Tree Court benefit from easy access to a range of local amenities, including high-street shops, restaurants, supermarkets and a post office.

More than 90 percent of customers would recommend McCarthy and Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the maximum Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years’ running.  It is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 14 years, which is every year since the awards have been running.
