Chairman of BCP Council Breaks Ground at New Poole Retirement Living Development

16 September 2019

Chairman of BCP Council, Councillor David Flagg, donned a hard hat last week to help break the ground at McCarthy and Stone’s latest Poole Retirement Living development on Lindsay Road in Penn Hill.

The VIP guest joined McCarthy and Stone’s Area Sales Manager Rebecca Johnson, and Assistant Site Manager Alex MacKenzie to take a closer look at development plans and mark the start of construction.

The new development will be made up of a mix of one and two-bed apartments exclusively designed for the over 60s. Apartments will be available to reserve off plan in early 2020, with first occupations expected in summer 2020.

Councillor David Flagg commented: “It was a pleasure to visit the site of McCarthy and Stone’s new development in Penn Hill as construction is just about to get under way. It was a great opportunity to meet the site team, most of whom live in the area and are very conscious of being good neighbours during construction. I was pleased to discuss plans for helping those who move into the new homes to integrate into the village community and work with McCarthy and Stone on supporting community projects.”

McCarthy and Stone’s forthcoming Retirement Living development will provide everything homeowners could want for an active and fulfilled retirement. The shared lounge will be perfect for socialising with new neighbours, and homeowners will be able to make the most of the landscaped gardens knowing all the maintenance is taken care of.  A House Manager will take care of the day-to-day running of the development, while secure entry systems and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind.

Ciara Hilley, Divisional Marketing Manager at McCarthy and Stone Southern, comments: “We are delighted Councillor David Flagg was able to take the time to visit our Poole site.

“McCarthy and Stone is committed to designing flexible homes which allow people to make the most of their retirement years, so it was great to be able to showcase the plans for some of the high quality apartments that will eventually be available at this new development in Penn Hill.”

Future homeowners will benefit from the development’s excellent location, which is within close proximity of a variety of local amenities, including a supermarket, several bars and restaurants, a hairdressers, a florist and a bakery. For golf enthusiasts, Parkstone Golf Club – ranked in the top 100 in Great Britain and Ireland – is just a mile away from the development.
