Celebrity Gardener Chris Beardshaw comes to Minehead
14 October 2014
Retirees and their families in Minehead enjoyed a brilliant opportunity to meet and greet celebrity gardener, Chris Beardshaw, at a special opening ceremony at McCarthy & Stone’s Beechfield Court development.
Chris visited McCarthy & Stone’s development on Tuesday, during which he officially opened the development and signed copies of his book ‘100 plants that almost changed the world’, while mingling with homeowners and guests.
Jacqui Meenan, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone, said: “We couldn’t have been more thrilled to have welcomed Chris to our Beechfield Court development. All the homeowners and guests really enjoyed spending the afternoon with him and picking his brains for their own potted creations.
“Despite no longer keeping their own gardens, many of our homeowners are still keen gardening enthusiasts and enjoy the beautiful landscapes here at the development. It was great for them to be able to get some quality tips for keeping their fingers green in later life from an award-winner like Chris.”
Chris Beardshaw previously helped create an award winning garden for McCarthy & Stone at last year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. The garden was designed to help challenge pre-conceptions of retirement living whilst honouring the experiences and knowledge of the UK’s growing aging population.
Beechfield Court, located on The Parks, is currently selling a selection of one and two bedroom apartments, exclusively for the over 60’s, priced from £212,000. The development benefits from large south facing landscaped gardens and is ideally situated to many nearby amenities, such as the Post Office, local banks, shops and restaurants.
Retirement Living with McCarthy & Stone offers security and independence with a House Manager to oversee the running of the development and security features fitted as standard including a camera entry system and a 24 hour emergency call system. Elegant design is at the heart of our developments, with spacious interiors, fitted kitchens and bathrooms plus other features including walk in wardrobes and underfloor heating.
