Carlyon Bay golf festival week set to 'tee off', thanks to generosity of sponsors

22 June 2017

McCarthy and Stone, the developer behind the Ocean House Ortus development in Carlyon Bay, has pledged its support for the Carlyon Bay Golf Festival Week, by donating £4,000 to help make this year’s festival the biggest yet.

The countdown is on to this year’s Carlyon Bay Golf Festival Week at the luxurious Carlyon Bay Hotel Golf Club.  Golf enthusiasts will tee off from Sunday 9th July, with both members and non-members invited to take part in a week of fun, mixed competitions to raise money for the Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell.

The week will begin with the club’s annual Pro AM tournament and more than 150 people are expected to take part.  In addition to sponsoring the Pro Am, McCarthy and Stone will also be entering two teams within the Pro AM, consisting of three amateurs and a leading PGA Professional.

Paul Martin, Director of the golf club at Carlyon Bay Hotel Golf Club, said: “We’re delighted that McCarthy and Stone have chosen to sponsor this year’s Pro AM, and would like to thank them for their generous support. We’re looking forward to welcoming the McCarthy and Stone golf teams, club members and the local community to Carlyon Bay Hotel Golf Club for what should be a fantastic week.”

Nicki Hill, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone South West, said: “As part of the ethos of McCarthy and Stone, we look not only to build high-quality developments, but to create a positive legacy within the local community. The Carlyon Bay Hotel Golf Festival Week is not only a real highlight of the calendar for local golfers, it will also raise vital funds for Mount Edgcumbe Hospice, and we therefore wanted to help make a difference by sponsoring the event. We are very keen to engage with locals and provide support where we can, so when our homeowners move into their new apartment they already feel part of an established community.”

Situated in a prime position on Sea Road, opposite the stunning Carlyon Bay Hotel and golf course, Ocean House comprises a selection of 32 one and two-bedroom luxury apartments, designed to offer flexible living for the most discerning over 55s.  Set to become one of Carlyon Bay’s most sought-after addresses, more than half of the apartments at Ocean House will have a large south facing balcony and sea views.

The luxury Ortus development has been designed to enable homeowners to enjoy the freedoms of an active life, forget the burdens of a large family home, and enjoy more free time to spend with friends and family.

Each individual apartment will offer genuine quality, intelligent use of space, and a stylish interior design. Having lock-up and leave potential, homeowners will benefit from secure door entry systems, 24-hour fire and security monitoring, buildings insurance, security lighting and maintenance for the communal areas, window cleaning and grounds maintenance of the landscaped gardens.
