BBC antiques expert, David Harper, to host a free valuation day in Bridlington

06 November 2017

BBC antiques expert David Harper, best known for his appearances on hit programmes, Bargain Hunt and Cash In The Attic, will be joining guests and homeowners at McCarthy and Stone’s Bridlington development, Chestnut Court, on Wednesday 22nd November for a special valuation day to raise money for Royal Voluntary Service.

David will be on hand to value everything from ceramics to paintings, and to help guests put a cost to their most treasured possessions and finest family heirlooms. So if you have a piece of jewellery, a rare postcard or a treasured collectible you would like to know more about then please bring it along on Wednesday 22nd November at 1.30pm.

For a small donation to McCarthy and Stone’s chosen charity, Royal Voluntary Service, guests are able to bring along one item each for David to appraise*.

Refreshments will be available for guests to enjoy while they wait for their collectibles to be examined, and David will also be taking time to give a talk on some of his best finds over the years.

As well as benefitting from David’s expert advice, guests will be able to take a tour of the development’s stunning show apartments, or have a chat with one of Chestnut Court’s advisors to get a feel for what life is like there.

Liz Green, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone North East, said: “Our valuation day at Chestnut Court will be a great way for homeowners and guests to come along and get their favourite item priced-up by TV personality David Harper, while they also experience for themselves the lifestyle we have on offer here for local retirees. In addition to providing beautiful apartments in a sought after location, Chestnut Court offers independent living free from maintenance worries as all the external areas are taken care of, leaving homeowners more time to spend on the things they enjoy.”

Facilities at Chestnut Court include a welcoming homeowners’ lounge, ideal for socialising with new neighbours, beautiful landscaped gardens and a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or family to stay. A House Manager oversees the day-to-day running of the development, while a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points provide added peace of mind for both homeowners and their families.

Now over 70% sold, Chestnut Court features a stunning modern design compromising 32 one and two bedroom age-exclusive properties for the over 60s, and starting from £167,999.

The antiques valuation day is expected to be popular and places are limited, so please call ahead to book a place on 0800 201 4739.

*Items are brought to Chestnut Court at their own risk, and items should not be left unattended at any time. No items of furniture please.
