BBC antiques expert, David Harper meets North Yorkshire retirees in Stamford Bridge and Easingwold

20 December 2017

BBC antiques expert David Harper, known for his appearances on hit programmes, Bargain Hunt and Cash In The Attic, joined guests and homeowners at two of McCarthy and Stone’s developments in Stamford Bridge and Easingwold for a special valuation day to raise money for older people’s charity, Royal Voluntary Service.

David was on hand to value everything from ceramics and glass to jewellery and paintings, as he helped guests put a cost on their most treasured possessions, in return for a small donation to the charity.

David said: “I was delighted to be invited to McCarthy and Stone’s developments, Sovereign Court in Stamford Bridge and Stillington Oaks in Easingwold, to host a valuation day. It was a real pleasure to meet with staff, homeowners and guests and have a look at their prized antiques all in aid of a fantastic cause.”

Liz Green, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone North East, said: “Our valuation days at Sovereign Court and Stillington Oaks were great opportunities for homeowners and guests to get their favourite items priced up by TV personality and industry expert, David Harper, whilst experiencing the lifestyle we have on offer here for local retirees.

“At both developments, we have created a close-knit new community, and these latest events are just one example of those we regularly host at the developments to bring homeowners and local people together.”
