Back to the drawing board at Algar Court

21 February 2018

Sandra developed her passion for water colour painting and oil painting during her time at school, over the years she became a member of five art societies and attended two exhibitions a year where she sold her work. After suffering a stroke two years ago, Sandra moved into McCarthy and Stone’s Algar Court Retirement Living development in Wolverhampton, where she has now picked up her paint brushes again.

“I moved just over a year ago and it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. I’ve made so many new friends and found the confidence to start painting again – my new apartment is full of pieces of my art and it makes me so happy that I’ve been able to continue my favourite hobby. As well as painting again, I run a lunch club every Friday and I’m planning to host some painting workshops for my new friends to try.

“Living at Algar Court has given me so much more time to enjoy myself, I don’t have any worries about maintenance as everything is taken care of. My family live all over the country so I don’t get to see them very often, but being at Algar Court means I’m never alone. We have weekly coffee mornings, movie nights and cheese and wine nights so there is always something to look forward to.

“Two years ago, I didn’t think I’d ever be able to paint again, but living at Algar Court has given me a new lease of life to enjoy my retirement to the full and I couldn’t be happier!”

All those who make Algar Court their home can make the most of the beautiful landscaped gardens, knowing that all the maintenance is taken care of. They can also feel secure in the knowledge the House Manager is on hand to provide any help or support should they need it; and that friends and family can stay over whenever they choose in the development’s comfortable guest suite.

Comprising an attractive selection of 38 one and two bedroom Retirement Living apartments, Algar Court is proving incredibly popular with Wolverhampton retirees with only 2 two bedroom apartments remaining. Prices currently start from £239,950 for a two bedroom apartment.

From 11am until 4pm on Wednesday 28 February Algar Court will be holding a Last Chance Open Day.    All are welcome to visit the development and take a tour of the last remaining apartments. There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the benefits of Retirement Living in Wolverhampton.
