Grant Shapps MP Joins Homeowners at McCarthy & Stone’s Peel Court
07 July 2014
Grant Shapps, chairman of the Conservative Party and MP for Welwyn Garden City spent the afternoon with homeowners from McCarthy & Stone’s Peel Court development in Welwyn Garden City on Friday, June 20th.
Mr Shapps joined Ali Maruf from McCarthy & Stone and took a tour of the Assisted Living development, seeing for himself the facilities on offer before meeting residents.
Mr Shapps comments: “It was a pleasure to visit Peel Court and to speak to some of the new residents. Living independently and securely is so important and with an ever increasing ageing population, it’s great to see developments like this in Welwyn Garden City.”
Ali Maruf, Regional Land Director for McCarthy & Stone commented: “We were delighted that Mr Shapps was able to take time out and visit our popular Peel Court development. The homeowners really enjoyed spending the afternoon with him discussing life in the development, local issues and the need for more elderly provision like this in Welwyn Garden City.”
Assisted Living at Peel Court bridges the gap between conventional Retirement living and residential care or a nursing home and offers the independence of retaining home ownership while living in an apartment specifically designed for later life.
Facilities include private apartments, a shared lounge for socialising, guest suite, a laundry and a lift, along with an on-site table service restaurant offering three-course meals 365 days a year. A dedicated estates manager ensures the smooth running of the development, while a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points provide peace of mind for both homeowners and their families. Optional care and support services are available to all residents should they ever be required to either help during short periods of ill health or on an on-going basis, and all properties are low maintenance and energy efficient for additional comfort.
