Cardiff Pupils Say Thank You

McCarthy Stone School Contribution

We’re delighted to donate £5,000 to Marlborough Primary School in Cardiff to help them complete the first phase of their playground revitalisation project...

The school has exciting plans and our donation money went on phase one of the revamp which took place during the recent summer holidays and the aim was to provide a safe and fun environment which brought the amalgamated infant and junior schools together. The new playground benefits from a secret garden and large shade sail to protect the children from the weather.

Geraldine Foley, head teacher from Marlborough Primary School, said “It’s great to see the playground completed when we returned from the summer break and it was lovely to see all the children’s faces light up when they first saw their new playground. With all the new features it means that the learning doesn’t have to stop during playtime and there are lots of activities for the children to take part in whatever the weather.

“This project has been a couple of years in the making and as we’re an inner city school the old playground wasn’t ideal. The parents have worked their socks off fundraising to make this happen and we’re very thankful to McCarthy Stone for their generous donation which meant we were able to complete phase one of the project.”

We hope to see lots of smiling faces from the children (and teachers) when we and our homeowners pass by the school.
