Community Centre in Worthing Gets £500 Boost

The Heene Community Centre provides a variety of socially distanced activities and clubs which are designed to help combat loneliness in the community, including art groups, craft classes, language lessons and a community café. The donation by McCarthy and Stone will be used to extend the café, to give those looking for company and companionship the opportunity to meet others and make new friends.

Jo Barden, Centre Manager at the Heene Community Centre, commented: “At the Heene Community Centre, we are dedicated to supporting the local community as much as we can. Meeting new people at a safe distance can raise spirits and help people feel connected, which is why our café and groups are so important. We really can’t thank the team at McCarthy and Stone enough for their generous donation.”

Laura Currie, Area Sales Manager from McCarthy and Stone Southern, added: “An important part of what we do here at McCarthy and Stone is to support initiatives in the towns and communities in which we build to help create a lasting, positive legacy.

“It was an absolute pleasure to present this donation to the team at the Heene Community Centre. All of us here at McCarthy and Stone in Worthing wish them every success with their work in helping to improve lives of so many within the community.”

With safety as its number one priority, McCarthy and Stone’s Neptune House development is now open for appointment only viewings. The Sales Consultant will advise visitors on specific practices and additional precautions which have been introduced, such as temperature checks on arrival. Virtual tours are also being made available to help potential purchasers find out more about the development before arranging a visit.
