About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital Content & UX Executive to join our Marketing department within Head Office, Bournemouth.  

As the Digital Content & UX Executive, you will carry out a range of online editorial duties for the McCarthy & Stone Group by writing, building and editing web pages in a CMS to ensure that the editorial content of the company’s websites are best in class.  You will also manage the scoping, execution (coding desirable) and reporting of national email marketing campaigns and increase user response and conversion through the McCarthy & Stone website.

Some of the key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Copywriting and proofing content.
  • Authoring, editing and creating promotional pages.
  • Repurpose marketing collateral and optimise for web use.
  • Image selection and sizing.
  • Ensure online team adhere to McCarthy & Stone brand guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Liaise with marketing and regional offices to agree amendments and updates to copy or page presentation to support achievement of their sales targets.
  • Liaising with Marketing and the regions to agree amendments to copy or page presentation to support achievement of their sales targets and ensure effective online support for new development launches.
  • Work closely with Digital UX Manager to provide support on website development projects.
  • Ensure the effective maintenance of McCarthy & Stone and the corporate website, and ensure all web copy is relevant and up to date and consistent.
  • Lead on departmental website refresh projects.
  • Build new development pages online and oversee their renaming process.
  • Ensure company websites are fully optimised for SEO, liaising with supporting agency when required.
  • Lead on weekly Google Analytics reporting for the department, liaising with the Marketing Insight Manger to ensure all reporting is insightful, timely and consistent.
  • Support Social Media activity when required.
  • Provide technical support and advice on SEO best practice in conjunction with the appointed agency.
  • Provide comprehensive training for regional digital teams as well as creating and updating supporting guides/manuals.
  • Assist with user testing and put forward ideas for enhancing user experience.
  • Work with Digital UX Manager and Head of Brand and Marketing to deliver an upcoming high-profile website project.

About you
To be successful in this role you will be educated with a formal qualification in marketing.  This will either be a degree, MBA or CIM or CIM Award in E-Marketing.

Within this role, you will have experience of content/image loading and publishing pages in a CMS.  You will have basic knowledge of Photoshop, and an awareness of usability and search engine optimisation principles.  You will be a confident copywriter with a keen eye for detail.
