COMMUNITY

Bournemouth is a thriving community hub with lots to offer active retirees. You'll find all of your favourite brands and restaurants in the pedestrianised town centre, as well as a wide range of retro boutiques in the vintage quarter on Christchurch Road. If you venture just beyond the town centre, you can also discover a number of specialised shops and cafés in the affluent Westbourne district.

If you’d rather get away from the crowds, then you can relax in the restaurants of the Poole Quay, where you can watch yacht racing and power boating out on the harbour, or even try your hand at canoeing with some new and like-minded friends. The harbour is also just a short walk to the peaceful Holes Bay, where you can relax with some fishing or kayaking, or see the Royal National Lifeboat Institution's training school.
