The UK’s leading developer and manager of retirement communities, McCarthy Stone, is preparing to welcome the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, John Glen MP, to officially open its Castle Gate Retirement Living development in Salisbury on Friday 4th September.

John Glen MP was first elected to Parliament as the Conservative MP for Salisbury in 2010 and was then appointed as the Economic Secretary to the Treasury in January 2018. To mark the official opening of Castle Gate, John Glen MP, will join McCarthy Stone CEO, John Tonkiss, for a tour of the new Retirement Living development before meeting the first residents.

John Glen MP commented: “I’m very much looking forward to visiting Castle Gate. I’m really keen to see what the completed development looks like and to meet some of the retirees who will be calling it their home – it is set to be a great day.”

John Tonkiss, CEO at McCarthy Stone, added: “McCarthy Stone is committed to designing flexible homes which allow people to make the most of their retirement years, and the launch of Castle Gate isa very exciting time for our business.

The Castle Gate Retirement Living development is situated on Endless Street. It is adjacent to McCarthy Stone’s Monument Place Retirement Living Plus development which is currently under construction.  Representing two options to suit different needs and stages of retirement, Castle Gate has been designed for retirees aged 60 and over, while Monument Place has been exclusively designed for those aged 70 and over.
