Chipstead retirees enjoy an audience with Gloria Hunniford MBE
The legendary broadcaster attended McCarthy Stone’s Goldfinch House retirement living development on Outwood Lane to mark the Grand Opening of the stunning new homes which have been exclusively designed for the over 60s.
Sprinkling her showbiz sparkle on the event, Gloria shared tales from her illustrious career in TV and radio and answered all the guests’ burning questions about her extraordinary career. From her early days as a singer to successful stints on radio and TV, Gloria has made a name for herself as one of Britain’s most loved presenters. Aged 82, Gloria continues to grace our screens with regular presenting and panel appearances on shows such as Rip Off Britain, Holidays & Live and Loose Women, Morning Live and The One Show, and most recently as “Snow Leopard” on the third series of The Masked Singer.
The much-loved personality held court in the development’s beautifully designed communal lounge where guests were treated to fizz and canapes. Live entertainment also made it a day to remember with renditions of much-loved tunes being performed.
Emma Falzon, Divisional Marketing Manager at McCarthy Stone, said: “Everyone had a fantastic time at the Goldfinch House event and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate its Grand Opening. To have Gloria join us on this special occasion was the icing on the cake, and she made it a memorable experience for all.
“Goldfinch House has so much to offer for those looking to maintain an active and independent lifestyle. A dedicated House Manager takes care of the day-to-day running of the development, and secure entry systems and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind. The development also features a guest suite for when homeowners have visitors, secure car parking, and beautiful courtyard gardens.”
