Make The Most of Your Homes From Home
Homeowners are spoilt for choice when it comes to guest suites they can book, with developments all over Britain
Whenever Michael and Dianne Price fancy a change of scenery, they pop downstairs for a chat with their house manager. She soon has them booked into the guest suite at a McCarthy Stone development in the part of Britain they want to visit.
Guest suites are available in developments across the country for as little as £25 per night. They provide hotel-style accommodation for visiting family and friends, but are also available to homeowners keen to continue enjoying their McCarthy Stone lifestyle when travelling.
It’s the perfect set-up, says Mr Price, 78, a retired engineer. “We know that we will swing into the car park at whichever development we’ve booked into, and it will immediately feel like a home from home.
“We will go and introduce ourselves to the house manager, who will make it their responsibility that we feel comfortable and welcome. There will be a nice hospitality tray in the room, which is always at least as nice as any hotel room we have stayed in. And we will have full access to the homeowners’ lounge.”
Grand Tour
The Prices moved into Algar Court in Wolverhampton, West Midlands in 2016, and have made use of the network of guest suites seven times since then. They have been to Worcester twice, visited Tenby and Porthcawl in Wales, as well as Swindon, Chippenham and the Cotswolds.
“We love the fact that the developments tend to be located close to the things we want to see and do,” says Mr Price. “In Tenby we were overlooking the harbour, while in Worcester we were just a short walk from the river.
“Wherever we stay we know that there will be shops nearby. The sense of community that seems to be nurtured inside every development means we’ll bump into like-minded people who will make us feel welcome. “We even got invited to the homeowners’ annual barbecue on one trip. Now we just need to decide where we’ll visit next.”
