“I was unsure about retirement living until I used Try Before You Buy and now I couldn’t be happier! I wanted to downsize my accommodation and be closer to my family who lived some distance away so found moving a daunting prospect . So my family and I were delighted when we learnt of a well located McCarthy & Stone development that is close to the local amenities and better still I was able to take advantage of their Try Before You Buy scheme. I stayed in the show apartment for two days and had a really lovely time. It was nerve racking at first meeting so many new people but now they are just my friends. My new apartment is a duplicate of the show apartment, as it was so nice and I have not looked back since moving. I couldn’t be happier!”

We were made aware of McCarthy & Stone by a friend who had just moved into a development and highly recommended the lifestyle. We made an appointment and visited the show complex. We were extremely impressed by the development but there is so much to take in and consider, so we were unable to make an immediate decision. When the sales consultants suggested we use the ‘Try Before You Buy' apartment we thought what a good idea and accepted the invitation.

As time passed it was becoming clearer that managing and maintaining a large house and garden was proving difficult. It was time to down size and find somewhere more appropriate.
