Testimonials
When Margaret and Albert Briscoe used to do the catering for parties and other social functions for McCarthy & Stone developments in Solihull, they always thought that they would like to live in a similar place. Now they have realised that ambition and have bought a brand new apartment at McCarthy & Stone’s Pardoe Court in Alcester Road, Studley. Margaret, 69, said: “Albert and I used to run Margaret’s Fine Catering and we did quite a lot of work in McCarthy & Stone developments, but we have been retired now for 11 years. “Due to Albert’s disability, we’d had enough of the stairs and the garden in our three-bedroom house in Redditch; our new flat at Pardoe Court is very manageable with only one bedroom and is on the ground floor with its own patio.” Pardoe Court is specially designed for people aged 60 and over. Each apartment is linked to TV camera security at the main entrance and to a 24-hour Careline system. Gardening and the upkeep of the building and communal facilities is taken care of by a maintenance team.
Margaret said: “We enjoy having tea and
coffee in the residents’ lounge here, and we hope to have more social
activities when more people arrive. The house manager is very helpful and you
never have to be lonely. But Other facilities at Pardoe Court include a laundry room, a landscaped garden, a guest suite and a lift to all floors. |

Pardoe Court isn’t cut off from the outside world.
We’re so close the shops and the bus service; and we’re right in the centre of
the village. I go to a keep-fit class and I’ve joined the local WI group.
