Situated in the picturesque village of Uppermill, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, the development is less than 300 yards from the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, which runs alongside the village.

The development enjoys a prime location on the High Street, which is the main thoroughfare for the villages' shops and other amenities.  The village itself is the largest of the Saddleworth villages and enjoys a long history dating back to Roman times and flourished in the 18^th century with the growth of the wool and cotton spinning industries.  The rich heritage of this era is still very much evident not only in the architecture such as the mills and nearby viaduct and canals, but with customs such as the traditional Whit Friday Brass Band walks.  It is this heritage, combined with the outstanding beauty of the surrounding countryside, which makes Uppermill so popular both with residents and visitors alike.
