New retirement apartments planned for sale in Ilfracombe, Devon.

Planning permission has been granted for Lantern Court, 42 one and two bedroom retirement apartments in Ilfracombe, Devon.  These retirement homes will be built on a cliff top location overlooking Ilfracombe harbour with stunning views from the sea facing retirement apartments and residents' lounge.  Selected retirement flats will have a balcony or French balcony, open plan kitchen and some will have en-suite shower rooms.   Undercover parking will be provided to resident permit holders.

Nearby Barnstaple has a wide variety of shopping outlets, and the picturesque towns of Braunton; South Moulton; Bideford and Lynmouth are all close by . Ilfracombe is close to Exmoor National Park offering beautiful scenery and landscapes which can be seen by foot, car, bicycle or horseback. 

Ilfracombe provides plenty of entertainment, hosting its own festival on May Day called ‘Jack in the Green', with processions, maypole and Morris dancing, and a Victorian Week in June where the town celebrates its Victorian past with 8 days of shows, parades and stalls, culminating in the Last Night of the Proms with fireworks and music.  Ilfracombe pier is host to the annual South West Birdman competition which involves contestants jumping off the pier to see who can ‘fly' the furthest.
