Located in the Vale of Pewsey, Devizes is a market town rich in history, culture and architecture. The town has over 500 listed buildings and is home to the impressive Wadsworth Northgate Brewery. The Kennet and Avon Canal, which in bygone years provided a trade link for local industries, runs through Devizes. Nowadays the canal can be enjoyed by those wishing to take a relaxing boat trip or by foot along the towpath.

Sudweeks Court lies just to the north of the town's Market Place and is ideally situated for all the town's shops and facilities, reached on foot via Snuff Street.  Shops in the town include several High Street stores, specialty shops and independent retailers.  There is a Marks and Spencer food hall approximately 320 yards from Sudweeks Court and a number of other supermarkets including Tesco, Morrisons and Somerfield nearby.

Regular bus services run to Bath, Salisbury and Swindon, making Devizes an excellent base to explore the local area.
