Parry Court retirement homes are situated in Mapperley, a suburb of Nottingham.  The retirement housing development in Hazel Grove consists of 50 one and two bedroom retirement apartments just off Plains Road in an area known as Mapperley Top.  A bus stop directly outside Parry Court provides regular services into Nottingham city centre and the suburbs such as Arnold; West Bridgford and Gedling, and further afield to Beeston and Long Eaton.  From Nottingham city centre itself there are excellent, rail, bus and tram services.

Parry Court retirement housing development is less than half a mile from Mapperley's main shopping area, and very close to Mapperley Golf Club and Woodthorpe Grange Park.  There are plenty of facilities and amenities on offer, especially in Nottingham which is only 3 miles away.  Nottingham has two large capacity theatres, the Nottingham Playhouse and the Theatre Royal (which together with the neighbouring Nottingham Royal Concert Hall forms the Royal Centre), several art galleries which often receive national attention, particularly the Nottingham Castle Museum, the University of Nottingham's Djanogly Gallery and Wollaton Park's Yard Gallery.  Both of the city's universities also put on a wide range of theatre, music and art events open to the public throughout the year.  Among Nottingham's important historical sites and features are its unique labyrinth of caves under the city, and Nottingham Castle which now plays host to a number of public annual events, including the Nottingham Beer Festival and the Robin Hood Pageant.

Situated in the heart of Robin Hood country, Nottingham and its suburbs are surrounded by beautiful countryside and there are several nature reserves such as Newark, a 20 acre woodland, and Besthorpe, one of the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust's newest and largest nature reserves, with areas of open water, reed bed and important grassland.
