The Royal Forest of Dean covers over 110 square kilometres of woodland and lies between the rivers Wye and Severn. There are various walks and trails that can be enjoyed within the forest offering picturesque scenery. 

Lydney benefits from a good selection of shops and amenities including two supermarkets, a post office, chemists, banks, hairdressers and numerous others.
