New retirement apartments planned for sale in Horsham, West Sussex
McCarthy & Stone pioneered the concept of private retirement housing in the UK and have retirement developments nationwide.
Retirement living from McCarthy & Stone however is so much more than just a retirement flat. It's designed to enable older retired home owners to lead an active, independent lifestyle, without many of the maintenance worries often associated with home ownership; all in a safe and secure environment.
The market town of Horsham in West Sussex is situated on the upper banks of the river Arun in the area of Weald. The town is 31 miles south of London and 18 Miles from Brighton, and its closest neighbours are Crawley and Billingshurst. It is well served by transport links, lying at the centre of three main road routes connecting London and Dorking to Worthing; Chichester to Crawley, and Guildford to Brighton. It is ideal for travel to and from Gatwick airport, and there are frequent train services from Horsham and Littlehaven stations to London Victoria and London Bridge. Public transport includes good local bus services providing easy access to the surrounding towns and villages of Broadbridge Heath; Itchingfield; Mannings Heath; Warnham and Southwater.
Horsham Park represents 24 hectares of open space for the use of the people of Horsham. A remnant of the former Hurst Park Estate, it now contains football pitches; tennis courts; a maze; landscaped gardens and a wildlife pond. Various leisure facilities, including a modern swimming complex and a purpose built gymnastic centre, have been built on land around the park. In addition, the Horsham Museum is situated at one end of the picturesque Causeway with its half timbered medieval houses from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, opposite to the recently developed former headquarters of the RSPCA.
The Horsham development is currently subject to planning permission, but it is our intention to construct independent living retirement flats for the over 60's.
The retirement apartments will be managed by a house manager who will oversee the running of the building including maintenance of the grounds and building. Key retirement living related features of the development will include a communal residents' lounge, a guest suite, laundry room and a lift that will provide access to all floors.
The perfect environment for those in retirement, homes in this retirement development will each contain a bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom with option to change from a bath to a shower if required.
