New retirement apartments for sale in Hazlemere, High Wycombe

McCarthy & Stone pioneered the concept of private retirement housing in the UK and have retirement developments nationwide.

Retirement living from McCarthy & Stone however is so much more than just a retirement flat. It's designed to enable older retired home owners to lead an active, independent lifestyle, without many of the maintenance worries often associated with home ownership; all in a safe and secure environment.

Hughenden Court is a development of 32 one and two bedroom retirement homes situated in Hazlemere, a suburb of High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire.  Surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, these retirement apartments are located on Penn Road, approximately two miles from High Wycombe town centre, with easy access to London and Oxford via the M25 and M40, reached by the local A404 to Amersham.

Residents at Hughenden Court benefit from a selection of local shops including a post office, bank and supermarket, as well as a community library with computer access and a selection of regular meetings and clubs.  There are good bus links to High Wycombe's Eden Shopping Centre with its excellent array of shops and department stores, as well as to the surrounding areas of Chalfont St Peters; Chalfont St Giles, and Holmer Green.

Hughenden Court takes its name from Hughenden Manor, Benjamin Disraeli's home from 1848 until his death in 1881.  The property is now owned by the National Trust, and most of his books, furniture and pictures remain in what was regarded as his private retreat.  Hazlemere itself is first recorded as a hamlet in the 13th century, and much of the area's history can be discovered in the High Wycombe Museum.  The Chiltern woodlands and stunning countryside around High Wycombe provide the ideal backdrop for country pursuits, and there are several country parks within easy distance of Hughenden Court.
