New retirement apartments planned for sale in Epsom, Surrey.

McCarthy & Stone pioneered the concept of private retirement housing in the UK and have retirement developments nationwide.

Retirement living from McCarthy & Stone however is so much more than just a retirement flat. It's designed to enable older retired home owners to lead an active, independent lifestyle, without many of the maintenance worries often associated with home ownership; all in a safe and secure environment.

The Epsom development is currently subject to planning permission, but it is our intention to construct 32 one and two bedroom independent living retirement flats for the over 60's.

The Epsom retirement housing apartments will be  ideally located on Waterloo Road, within easy reach of Epsom Train Station and the High Street, and with excellent travel links by road and rail to London and to the neighbouring towns of Ewell; Ashtead; Banstead and Leatherhead.

Epsom is a desirable town, situated in between Greater London and the rolling hills of Surrey.  Once famed for being a spa town, Epsom is now a vibrant place for shopping and entertainment.  Shoppers will enjoy spending time in The Ashley Centre which houses many famous high street brands as well as independent stores, before relaxing in one of the many cafes or restaurants in the town.

Epsom is probably best known as the home of the Derby, which is run every year at Epsom Downs Racecourse.   However, there are also many other leisure facilities available, including the Epsom Playhouse Theatre which hosts a variety of events and shows, and the Rainbow Leisure Centre which provides excellent sporting facilities to Epsom residents.  A number of parks and countryside areas surround the town including Epsom Common, a local nature reserve and site of scientific interest, and Nonsuch Park, the last surviving part of a deer hunting park established by Henry VIII which used to surround the former Nonsuch Palace.

This retirement development will be managed by a house manager who will oversee the running of the building including maintenance of the grounds and building. Key retirement living related features of the development will include a communal residents' lounge, a guest suite, laundry room and a lift that will provide access to all floors.
