New retirement apartments planned for sale in Juniper Green, Edinburgh, Scotland.

Juniper Green in Edinburgh is a conservation area with a charming village feel in the southwest of Edinburgh, situated between Currie and Colinton. 

The new retirement homes will be located on Baberton Avenue, just off Lanark Road, the main thoroughfare through Juniper Green. All local amenities and services are located along Lanark Road, and include a bank, pharmacy, grocery store, butcher, delicatessen, and hair and beauty salon. There is also a small selection of restaurants and cafes in the immediate area. A range of leisure activities are available, with Baberton Golf Club adjacent to the site, and a bowling club and tennis club nearby.  There is also a bicycle-pedestrian path running along the old single-track Caledonian Railway line from Juniper Green to the Pentland foothills in neighbouring Balerno.

Transport links are good, with bus stops along Lanark Road serving routes to Edinburgh City Centre and Livingston, and the nearby City Bypass.

We have now secured planning permission for the Juniper Green development, which will consist of 45 one and two bedroom apartments.

The retirement apartments will be managed by a house manager who will oversee the running of the building including maintenance of the grounds and building. Key retirement living related features of the development will include a communal residents' lounge with views across Edinburgh, a guest suite, laundry room and a lift that will provide access to all floors.

The perfect environment for those in retirement, homes in this retirement development will each contain 1 or 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen and fully fitted bathroom with the option to change to a shower if required.  Many apartments will enjoy open views across Edinburgh, and most will have at least one balcony or terrace. 

Planning permission now granted, construction is due to commence August 2012 and we will welcome our first residents in July 2013.
