66 New Assisted Living retirement apartments are planned for sale in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, due for completion Summer 2013.

The additional features, which extend to both the retirement flats and the communals include a waitress service restaurant plus domestic assistance and personal care that can be tailored to meet the changing needs of residents in retirement.

The Regency Spa town of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire is on the edge of the Cotswolds, less than 100 miles from London.  Known for its racecourse where the well known Gold Cup British steeplechase horse race takes place, the town also hosts the Cheltenham Literature, Jazz, Science and Music Festivals.

Cheltenham has a railway station with services to Gloucester, Swindon, London Paddington, the South West, the North West, the North East, and Scotland.  The town is also well connected by road to Bristol and Birmingham via the M5 motorway, and there are plenty of regular bus services to the local towns and villages of Montpellier; Broadway, and further afield to Tewkesbury, Stroud and Cirencester. 

Cheltenham is a regional shopping centre, home to a fortnightly farmers' market, several shopping centres and department stores, the oldest being Cavendish House from 1823. It has a Michelin two-star restaurant, Le Champignon Sauvage, and boasts a number of award-winning parks and gardens such as Montpellier Gardens, Hatherley Park, Tivoli Gardens, Pittville Park and Sandford Park.  The town is an ideal base for visiting the Cotswolds area including places such as Stow-on-the-Wold; Bourton-on-the-Water and Burford.

The assisted living development flats will be on St George's Road, which culminates in the historic Promenade, Cheltenham's famous shopping district.  The train station is 0.4 miles from the development and there are bus stops and a doctors' surgery just outside.

An Estates Manager will oversee the running of this Assisted Living retirement development in Cheltenham, and staff will be on site 24 hours a day. Key assisted living related features will include a residents' lounge, laundry room, waitress service restaurant (or in the event of illness meals can be taken to a residents flat), function room and lifts that give access to all floors. One hour of domestic assistance is available each week and further assistance can be tailored to individual needs. The Assisted Living flats are designed to enable wheelchair users to live independently.
