New Assisted Living retirement apartments are planned for sale in Penylan, Cardiff, South Wales

Planning permission has been achieved to construct 58 Assisted Living retirement flats for the over 70's.

An Assisted Living retirement development bridges the gap between more conventional retirement living and residential care or a nursing home, by offering a range of additional features designed to help residents retain their independence and importantly, for those in retirement, home ownership.

The new Assisted living retirement homes will be located in the Cardiff suburb of Penylan, an attractive area characterised by tree lined roads and Victorian period houses, to the east of Cardiff city centre.  Ideally situated in Marlborough Road, these new Assisted Living retirement apartments will be close to Roath Park and Wellfield Road shops. 

Penylan offers a wealth of amenities including a wide selection of shops, a post office, health surgery, local library and community centre with fitness suite; badminton courts and a Life Trail outdoor gym.  There is a bus stop adjacent to the assisted living retirement flats offering easy access into Cardiff city centre with its range of shops, theatres, galleries and museums, as well as Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Bay, The Millennium Stadium and National Museum. 

Penylan has an active Bowling Club, and hosts the Cardiff Bridge Club which meets four nights each week.  It is also home to Roath Park, Cardiff's most popular public park where fishing, boating, bowls, tennis and basketball are regularly enjoyed.  The park offers a cafe, Botanic Gardens and the historical Roath Park Conservatory, along with a 30 acre lake featuring the Scott Memorial Lighthouse. 

Cardiff is the capital of Wales, and has excellent transport connections to numerous locations across Wales and England, and easy access to the M4 and Newport.  It is only 2 hours from London by rail or road, and 90 minutes from Heathrow Airport.

An Estates Manager oversees the running of the retirement apartments, and staff will be on site 24hours a day. Key assisted living related features of the development include a residents' lounge, laundry room, waitress service restaurant (in the event of illness meals can be taken to a residents flat), function room and lifts that give access to all floors, one hour of domestic assistance is available each week and further assistance can be tailored to individual needs.

The perfect environment for those in retirement, homes in our assisted living retirement development will each contain a bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom containing both a bath and separate level access shower.
