New retirement apartments planned for sale in Burgess Hill, West Sussex.

McCarthy & Stone pioneered the concept of private purpose built retirement housing in the UK over 30 years ago. An Assisted Living retirement development bridges the gap between more conventional retirement living and residential care or a nursing home, by offering a range of additional features designed to help residents retain their independence and importantly, for those in retirement, home ownership.

Burgess Hill in West Sussex lies on the edge of the South Downs National Park, 10 miles from Brighton and 29 miles from Chichester.  The town has good local amenities, several supermarkets, and a pedestrianised shopping area.  There are frequent rail services to London and Brighton from Burgess Hill and Wivelsfield railway stations, and regular bus services from the town to Brighton and Hove and the surrounding areas including Ditchling, Horsham and Hickstead.

Burgess Hill has plenty of attractions including two nature reserves, Bedelands and Batchelors Farm; the 188-acre Ditchling Common Country Park; the Triangle Leisure Centre and a local theatre.  The town is also home to one of the last remaining independent cinemas, the Orion Cinema, which shows a mixture of mainstream and arthouse films; its own Symphony Orchestra and the Mid Sussex Brass Band.

Situated on The Brow & Queen Elizabeth Avenue, these retirement flats will enjoy a convenient position close to bus stops and not far from the railway station.

Construction has now started on this development and sales release is planned for September 2012 with first occupations scheduled for March 2013. We will construct independent Assisted Living retirement flats for the over 60's.

The additional features, which extend to both the retirement flats and the communals include a waitress service restaurant plus domestic assistance and personal care that can be tailored to meet the changing needs of residents in retirement.
