The Essex town of Braintree is situated on the River Blackwater 10 miles from Chelmsford and 24 miles from Colchester. Braintree (and neighbouring Bocking) was once a Bronze Age valley settlement, and in 1199 King John granted the town a market charter to hold a weekly market which is held twice weekly today. The town is a haven for discerning shoppers who are attracted to its traditional, specialist shops and modern George Yard shopping centre, as well as its outlet shopping village on the outskirts.

Braintree has a good transport system, with 2 railway stations offering services to London Liverpool Street and locally to nearby towns such as Georgian Witham. Stansted Airport is only 16 miles away, and there are plenty of frequent buses serving the picturesque villages of Rayne; Black Notley; White Notley and Panfield.

Activities in the area include several Leisure Centres and golf clubs as well as the 100 acre Great Notley Country Park and Cressing Temple Barns, a medieval moated farmsted. A variety of street festivals, a carnival and traditional lights and celebrations over the Christmas period attract plenty of visitors to Braintree throughout the year.

The Braintree development is currently subject to planning permission, but it is our intention to construct independent living retirement flats for the over 60's. The development is ideally situated close to the town and shops.

The retirement apartments will be managed by a house manager who will oversee the running of the building including maintenance of the grounds and building. Key retirement living related features of the development will include a communal residents' lounge, a guest suite, laundry room and a lift that will provide access to all floors.
