Viewpoint 60+ Think Tank Launched 

If you’re one of the country’s 12 million people of retirement age then a new think tank recently launched wants to hear from you. Viewpoint 60+ will be a specialist UK-wide panel of those aged 60 and over which will provide an important insight into the views, opinions and issues affecting older people.

McCarthy & Stone, the UK’s market leader in retirement living, hopes to create a database of thousands of respondents to a quarterly online survey run by respected research company Populus. The company will be asking for feedback on a range of issues from pensions and the default retirement age to how older people are treated in today’s society.

The survey will help provide an insight into the lifestyles of over 60s today, including relationships, health, hobbies and interests. The panel will also be invited to have their say on social issues, current affairs and the political agenda.

Howard Phillips, chief executive of McCarthy & Stone, comments: “Viewpoint 60+ is a way of effectively engaging with the older generation and listening to their views and what concerns them. People of retirement age now account for around one in five of the UK population and it’s vital that they are given a voice. We expect the results of our panel to provide an interesting and valuable insight into a really important section of society.”
