Pension Credit includes: Guaranteed Pension Credit (GPC) Guaranteed Credit may be paid when you reach the qualifying age. It tops up your weekly income to a guaranteed minimum.
Savings Credit Savings Credit is for those who have saved some money towards their retirement. You may be able to get it if you are aged 65 or over. You may be able to get savings Credit as well as Guaranteed Pension
Credit. Attendance Allowance (AA) Attendance Allowance is a non-taxable benefit for people living at home aged 65 or over who need someone to help look after them because they are physically or mentally disabled. (non-means tested benefit)
Disability Living Allowance (DLA) Disability Living Allowance is a nontaxable benefit for people who become disabled and make a claim before the age of 65. (non-means tested benefit)
Severe Disability Premium (SDP) If you receive a qualifying benefit such as DLA or AA you may qualify for a premium on top of the basic personal allowance. - Single person on both GPC and AA £58.20
- Couples on GPC and both on AA £116.40
Winter Fuel Allowance - £200 for all over 60s plus additional £100 for over 80s
Television Licence - Free if you’re 75 or over
- 50% discount for anyone registered blind (any age)
Council Tax Benefit - May be met in full if you qualify for GPC
- Possible discounts if you have a low income
- A 25% discount if you live on your own
