Benefits Advice

The state benefits and allowances system can seem baffling and complex. Maybe that's why Age UK estimates that older people fail to claim over £5 billion in money that’s due to them every year (Source: Age UK's website March 2011). Some payments depend on your health, and whether you're on a low income but others are available to everyone of a certain age. On the reverse, we summarise the main state benefits you may be able to claim. There may also be other entitlements available depending on individual circumstances.

You could benefit financially from your move to McCarthy & Stone.

Benefit entitlements can change dramatically as individual circumstances change, such as moving to a McCarthy & Stone retirement apartment. You may find that a certain amount of the costs involved in living in a McCarthy & Stone retirement apartment, such as the ground rent and service charge, may be covered by claiming for entitlements such as Pension Credit. Even if you think you are not eligible now, you may be entitled to receive certain benefits once you have moved in or if your situation changes in the future.
