It’s a fact of life, as we get older, many of us will require additional help and support to maintain a sense of independence in our day to day lives. For many a move to residential care or a nursing home is the only alternative, having to sell the family home in the process to pay the fees. McCarthy & Stone’s Extra Care Living concept offers a new alternative and importantly you continue to own your own home with the support you need right on your doorstep.

Extra Care Living complements our already acclaimed retirement living development concept by including additional design features and support services for residents. Many of the services can be specifically tailored to meet individual needs and help older home owners to continue to lead fulfilling and independent lifestyles.

The full range of day-to-day services include domestic assistance and domiciliary care with flexible support to meet residents changing needs. Staff are also on site 24 hours a day for added peace of mind.

All rooms are easily accessible to all, including those confined to a wheelchair with wider doorways being key to the design layout. Your one or two bedroom apartment helpfully accommodates a level access shower room with slip resistant flooring and support rails.

There are extensive on site facilities including a waitress service restaurant serving three meals a day, a coffee shop, hair salon and therapy room, exercise room, TV lounge, library and hobbies room, plus a dedicated mini-bus for day trips and much much more.
