Terms & Conditions

2. £3,000 SAGA Holiday vouchers to be redeemed direct with SAGA.  To be supplied within 28 days of completion date.

Offerton Crack the Safe Promotion Terms & Conditions (4 & 5 February 2011) 

The competition is open to anyone aged 60 or over, who visits and completes a tour of the show apartments at Vernon Court Offerton on 4th or 5th February 2011 between 11am and 4pm.  The competition is not open to McCarthy & Stone employees, their immediate family or anyone directly connected with the competition.  Only one entry (which comprises up to three attempts) per person. Entry  of the competition to win the prize of the retirement apartment No 12 at Vernon Court, Marple Road Offerton, Stockport Cheshire SK2 5EL is as follows. All entrants will be required to guess the winning six digit safe combination (the winning combination), which will be pre-selected prior to the start of the promotion.  For the purpose of this promotion the winning combination will be a six digit number comprising six digits (each digit with the range 0-9) in a set order (for example 123456 or 001122).  
Each entrant will be allowed a maximum of 3 attempts and there is a maximum of 1000 attempts for the entire competition on both days that the competition runs. When the number of attempts reaches 1000 the competition will be closed.
The safe will be in the winning apartment and entrants can guess the combination between 11am – 4pm on Friday 4th February 2011 and 11am – 4pm on Saturday 5th February 2011.
The sole prize is apartment No 12 Vernon Court, Marple Road, Offerton, SK2 5EL.  The prize is non refundable, non transferable and there is no cash alternative.  The prize does not include any costs or expenses in relation to prize including but not limited to those involved in transferring the apartment to the winner. It is the winner’s responsibility to pay for stamp duty and all legal costs (including disbursements) in transferring legal ownership of the property from McCarthy & Stone to the winner. Apartment No 12 Vernon Court Offerton will be transferred to the winner when legal completion of the transfer of the apartment occurs.
All entrants must complete an Official Entry Form prior to making their Attempt.  To make their Attempt the entrant will enter the six digit number from their Entry Form into the Digital Safe.  Any entrant who suspects that he is a winner must immediately inform a McCarthy & Stone representative present at Vernon Court of this belief.
WHNO will provide a Digital Safe for the Contest and McCarthy & Stone will have no knowledge of the winning combination.  Prior to the Contest WHNO will randomly select the Winning Combination, set the Winning Combination as the Safe Code and lock the Safe. WHNO will then place the Winning Combination in a Sealed Envelope and place the Sealed Envelope inside an envelope in the bag the safe is delivered in. An independent adjudicator from WHNO will be present at the event.  The adjudicator in his sole discretion will decide the winning entry.  The judge’s decision is final.  McCarthy & Stone will seek to notify the winner by 6th February 2011.  For winner’s details by 30th March 2011 please send an SAE to Deborah Bond, Marketing Manager at McCarthy & Stone Retirement Lifestyles Ltd, Hartington House, Hartington Road, Broadheath, Altrincham  WA14 5LX.    
The sealed envelope must remain unopened until confirmation is received from the WHNO adjudicator of the winner.  If the envelope has been opened or tampered with in any way this may result in a claim denial.  
THE OPENING OF THE SAFE OR ANY COMMUNICATION BY THE SAFE THAT THE CODE IS CORRECT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A WINNING ATTEMPT.  TO QUALIFY FOR THE MAIN PRIZE THE SIX DIGIT NUMBER WRITTEN ON THE ENTRANT’S ENTRY FORM MUST MATCH IDENTICALLY WITH THE WINNING COMBINATION CONTAINED IN THE SEALED ENVELOPE.

2. Entry is by sending us your details. The closing date for the competition is 30.6.11. Only one entry per household.

3. There is one prize that consists of £250 cash for the winner and £250 for her WI branch. The prize is non-transferable.

4. The winner will be drawn at random from all valid entries received.
