Over the past 30 years, the McCarthy & Stone Group has become Britain's leading builder of retirement apartments, responsible for the construction of more than 40,000 homes for more than 45,000 customers.

Just five years after building our first apartments in New Milton, Hampshire, McCarthy & Stone became a public limited company, and in 1984, achieved full listing on the London Stock Exchange.

The following years saw further success and expansion, with the late Diana, Princess of Wales, opening a new, purpose-built head office in 1987, and an Assisted Living Division being established in 1999 to develop housing to bridge the gap between conventional retirement developments and residential care.

Home Life HouseIn 2006 McCarthy & Stone reverted to private ownership to continue its growth and now has national coverage through 5 Regional offices, in addition to the Bournemouth headquarters.
