McCarthy and Stone offers a range of discretionary benefits, some of which are dependent on position and grade. Any scheme rules or conditions that apply will normally be provided on commencement of employment. Here is a brief overview of some of the benefits we offer: Holidays Our full time employees are entitled to at least 24 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays. The holiday entitlement is pro-rated for part time employees. Holiday entitlement increases with service. Pension - Life after work! A Group Personal Pension Plan, which is currently managed by Legal & General and to which the Company and the individual contribute, is available to all employees after 3 months service. Life Assurance Life Assurance is provided for all employees. The level of cover varies according to grade. Private Medical Insurance Private Medical Insurance is provided for some employees depending on their grade. Health Screening Health screening is provided for all employees dependent on age and length of service. (Note: The age bands have been set with reference to World Health Organisation recommendations). Employee Assistance/Medical Help Lines Employees and their family members have access to Legal & General and BUPA help lines. The BUPA Health line is a confidential clinical telephone service available to all employees and immediate family members, not just those who are in the private medical insurance scheme. Eye Care Voucher Scheme Subject to certain criteria, employees who use Display Screen Equipment regularly may be eligible to claim a free eye test and if necessary for VDU use, a contribution towards the cost of spectacles. Company Cars We provide Company Cars to certain employees according to job role and grade. We also currently offer a cash alternative. Both these schemes are subject to certain rules and eligibility criteria. Long Service Awards Cash awards are given at 10, 20, 30 and 40 years' service plus an additional week's paid holiday (pro-rated for part time employees). Special awards are also made on retirement for those with more than 5 years service. Professional Subscriptions We encourage membership of appropriate professional associations and will reimburse payment of one relevant annual membership fee or an annual subscription fee per employee. Give As You Earn This scheme enables employees to make donations direct from pay to any charitable or voluntary organisation in the UK. You can choose to donate to a nominated charity (or charities) on a regular basis or open a charitable account and make donations to any registered charity as you wish. Donations are tax-free and we also pay the administration charges so your entire donation goes to the charity of your choice. Childcare Vouchers If you are paying for childcare for children up to the age of 16, you could be saving money. The vouchers can be used for most types of childcare. Bonus, Commission and Incentive Schemes Incentive Schemes The Company operates a number of discretionary bonus, commission and incentive schemes, which may apply according to grade or job function. All such schemes are reviewed annually and do not form part of employees' terms and conditions of employment. Any scheme may be amended or removed at any time. Bonus, commission and incentive payments are only payable if targets and other criteria are met. Land Introduction Bonus A land Introduction bonus is payable for successful land introductions by any member of staff (except members of the Land Department). Customer Referral Bonus A bonus is payable to any member of staff (excluding sales staff) who refers someone who goes on to purchase one of our apartments. There is no limit to the number of referrals an employee can make. Discounts on Apartment Purchase Any employee, or a member of the employee's immediate family, who purchases a McCarthy & Stone Apartment may be entitled to a discount off the list price. Performance Management The Performance Achievement Review (PAR) McCarthy & Stone is a high performing organisation. We are committed to ensuring that our employees perform to the best of their abilities and to employee development. To facilitate this, we operate an annual appraisal scheme. The aim of the PAR is to ensure that clear performance and behavioural objectives are set for everyone and that progress against the objectives is reviewed and discussed on a regular basis with line managers.
