Benefits Package

Mccarthy and stone offer a range of company benefits dependent on position and length of service. These include the following:

Pension - Life after work!

You are eligible to join the Group Personal Pension Plan offered through Legal & General after 3 months service. The company will at least match your contributions up to 5% of basic salary and you may be eligible for 7.5% from the company.

Holidays

You are entitled to at least 23 days holiday per year, pro-rata if you work part time. Your holiday will increase with length of service by one day for every year served, starting on the 3rd anniversary of your start date, up to a maximum of 28 days.

Give As You Earn

This scheme enables employees to make donations direct from pay to any charitable or voluntary organisation in the UK. This can include places of worship, schools, scout groups and many other organisations. You can choose to donate to a nominated charity (or charities) on a regular basis or open a charitable account and make donations to any registered charity as you wish. Donations are tax-free so if you pledge £10 from your gross salary each month, it will only cost you £7.80 (at 22% tax rate) thanks to the taxman not taking his share. The Company also pays the administration charges so your entire donation goes to the charity of your choice.

Life Assurance

You are automatically covered by the Company's Life Assurance scheme at a rate of at least 2 times your salary for the first year of employment. If you join the Personal Pension Plan within your first year of employment this level of cover will continue.

The level of cover increases with grade.

Private Medical Insurance

Private Medical Insurance is provided to employees in grades E and above.

Health Screening

Well Woman and Well Man Health Assessments are available to all employees dependent on age and length of service. Screenings are available to employees in grades A - D over the age of 40 with at least 3 years' service, at 3 year intervals. Screenings are available to employees in grades E and above who are over 35 years at 1, 2 or 3 year intervals dependent on age.

Note: The age bands have been set with reference to World Health Organisation recommendations.

Employee Assistance/Medical Help Lines

Employees and their family members have access to both the Legal & General and BUPA help lines.

The BUPA Health line is a confidential clinical telephone service available to all employees and immediate family members, not just those who are in the private medical insurance scheme.

Incentive Scheme

The Company operates a Senior Manager's Incentive Scheme, for different categories of staff. The purpose of this scheme is to enable employees to share in the success of the Company. There are also more targeted schemes for those involved in sales.

Company Cars

If you are eligible for a Company Car you will be given details of the choice of vehicles available along with a copy of the rules attached to the scheme. The Company also offers a cash alternative.

Land Introduction Bonus

The Land Introduction bonus is payable for successful land introductions by any member of staff (except Land Department employees who are not eligible to benefit from this scheme). The Bonus is £10,000 and the whole of this sum will be payable immediately once contracts have been exchanged. The Land Introduction Form is available on public folders or from your Land Department. Unfortunately (like most things) this payment too, is subject to tax and National Insurance deductions.

Performance Achievement Review

The company operates an annual appraisal scheme, which is called the Performance

Achievement Review (PAR). The aim of the PAR is to ensure effective communication

and feedback with Line Managers and to encourage improved performance and

employee development.

Employee Apartment Referral Bonus

This bonus is payable to a member of staff (excluding sales staff) who refers someone who goes on to purchase one of our apartments. The bonus is £1,000 and there is no limit to the number of referrals you can make. It is payable on completion and is again unfortunately subject to tax and National Insurance deductions.

Discount on Apartment Purchase

Any employee, or a member of the employee's immediate family, who purchases a McCarthy & Stone Apartment may be entitled to a discount of 4% off the list price.

Long Service Awards

Currently payable for 10 and 20 years' service at £1600 and £3000 respectively plus an additional week off (pro-rata for part timers) to be taken within 52 weeks of the anniversary of your start date. There is a gift and a party after 20 years too! Awards are also made on retirement for those with more than 5 years service.

Eye Care Voucher Scheme

Subject to certain criteria, employees who use Display Screen Equipment regularly may be eligible to claim a free eye test and if necessary for VDU use, a contribution towards the cost of spectacles.

Professional Subscriptions

The company encourages membership of appropriate professional associations and will reimburse payment of one relevant annual membership fee or an annual subscription fee.
